The "RF and millimeter-wave circuit design" (RFMMW) course covers the design, analysis and experimental verification of wireless circuits and systems. These are the same topics as the RF1 and RF2 courses but the RFMMW is optimized for remote learning.

Learning goals:

The learning goals encompass the learning goals of RF1 & RF2 courses:

  1. Understand the technical system specification of a wireless system
  2. Understand the transceiver specifications and relate them to the system specifications
  3. Understand single-path and multi-path/beamforming transceiver architectures
  4. Understand the RF circuit/function specifications and relate them to the transceiver specifications
  5. Be able to design, simulate and layout low noise amplifiers, power amplifiers, filters, mixers, oscillators, phase shifters and true time delay circuits at VHF, RF and mm-wave frequencies
  6. Be able to perform experiments and measurements with/on VHF, RF and mm-wave transceiver circuits

  • Advice from educational support (Renée Hendrikx) - already scheduled
    • First feedback: lab is difficult to impossible to do in Coursera. Advice: use an alternative (simulation etc.).
    • This does not seem an ideal solution.
    • More discussion t the micromaster meeting on March 21st 2019 where the colleagues of Renée Hendrikx wil join.
